DECA Competition
Congratualtions to the DECA Club. They did very well
at a competition on Saturday, January 21, 2012 with
many students moving on to the state competition.
Medal Winners:
Amber McAbee, Kevin Finley, the team of Melissa Emery
& Allison Norrington, team of Ieisha Jones and Keyana Roberts, Nichelle Giden, and the team of Da'Vonta Grant & Donquiel Lott
Advance to States:
Amber McAbee, Kevin Finley, Melissa Emery, Allison Norrington,
Nichelle Giden, Donny Scott, Da'Vonta Grant, Donquiel Lott,
Michael Bryant, and Gabrielle Campbell

Classroom Support Fund Winner
Congratulations to Mrs. L. Heck on winning a $750.00 grant from the Classroom Support Fund. She has purchased two interactive slates to interface with the Promethean Board to use from the student desks. Many of her students cannot effectively use the board from wheelchairs or have balance problems just standing at the board. The slates will allow them to use the flipcharts from their desks. Congratulations Mrs. Heck and thank you.

“Teacher of the Year” Award
Saginaw Valley League
“Teacher of the Year” Award
The Saginaw Valley League Teacher-of-the-Year Award was established to recognize
excellence in teaching. This award is presented annually to one teacher from each
Saginaw Valley member high school. Any teacher who has taught for at least five
years and whose current teaching assignment is full or part-time in grades 9-12 in a member high school is eligible to receive the award.
If you wish to nominate a teacher for this award, you may either fill in the
brief form below or submit a letter in support of your candidate. Your nomination
might include examples of qualities such as the following:
Creative teaching
Involvement in school activities
Commitment to improving student learning
Enthusiasm for teaching
Respected by students and staff
Involvement in community groups or activities
Or, any other qualities you consider important to good teaching
